ALGALIMENT

Intensive breeding and the foodstuffs derived from it mean that many food products now lack the necessary nutritional qualities: fewer minerals and trace elements, more carbohydrates. This leads to products containing fewer polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega 3, proven to be beneficial to cardio-vascular health. Animal feed therefore needs to be enriched, not only to improve animal well-being, but also for better food quality. Growing consumer demand for quality products, linked to food scares and to the food processing industry's increasing interest in promoting "natural" products, all point to the need for a balanced animal diet. Tanguy Legavre offers three main product ranges for animal nutrition and health: Algaliment, specializing in mineral- and marine trace element-based feed, Dietinov for nutrition and health products, based on Omega 3-rich fish oils, or Omega 6-rich linseed oils and Hippodif, offering sea water therapy for eventing horses with sea muds and active marine ingredients derived from sea water and algae.

Sea water minerals with lith

othamnium and bentonite clays

Marine minerals

Algobase is a feed additive consisting of an active marine ingredient and calcareous algae, lithothamnium, containing many trace elements and enriched with silica. It is sold as a powder or a liquid. Algobase is particularly rich in magnesium and potassium, but also contains manganese, phosphorus, iron, silica, etc.

Algosim is a dietary feed supplement specially formulated for "parturition". It contains magnesium, buck-wheat and lithothamnium algae. It is designed to facilitate parturition by toning up the muscles and easing intestinal transit. It reduces animal stress during this sensitive period.

Magnesium chlorid also from marine sources, lithothamnium alone or 5° cider vinegar can also be used as animal feed supplements.

Other products

Ambrosia is a cider vinegar containing nutrients found in cider apple skin and flesh. It also contains acetic acid produced by cider alcohol transformation due to acetic bacteria. It is a natural, organic alternative to help good digestion. It is sold as a powder.

Ambroisie évolution is also a feed supplement based on 5° cider vinegar, with added essential oils from plants such as cinnamon, thyme, oregano, cloves or eucalyptus.

Bentonite clay has been used for centuries for healing purposes and is well-known in the treatment of infected open wounds and for gastro-intestinal diseases, particularly for disintoxication and reinforcement of the immune system.

Algaliment also provides buckwheat husks as bedding and crushed wheat as feed.

HIPPODIF

Hippodif for racing and eventing horses

Sea water therapy & aroma therapy

Marine mud and active principles and essential oils

Hydromassage care

Hydromassage is an effective form of treatment with mechanical, thermal and chemical benefits. The mechanical effect is imparted by the pressure of the water jets, producing a soft but effective muscular stimulation. The thermal effect is produced by the water temperature, which induces sweating, dilating of the skin pores and toxin elimination. The chemical effect is obtained by penetration of the active ingredients, with water previously enriched by thermo-reducing marine muds.

Hydro-massage

The unique properties found in sea water and algae are put to use in this equine therapeutic treatment. It provides the equivalent of sea water therapy for racing and eventing horses. The package consists of:

• a specially adapted equine hydro-massage system, complete with aerosol aroma therapy and light therapy devices.

• additional marine-based products to go with the hydro-massage treatment, i.e. active elements designed to loosen the horse's muscles, give more energy and promote cellular health (marine solution and thermal therapy marine muds).

• a device in the shower booth equipped with soothing blue spotlights and a stimulating red light.

Thermo-reducing marine muds

These are trace element-rich products designed to:

• detoxify and purify the muscles, thanks to their stimulating effect on cellular activity

• activate energy exchanges by accelerating the skin's metabolism

• increase blood vessel dilation for better penetration of the active marine ingredients.

Feed additives

Soothing and immune system reinforcing concentrated marine solutions are recommended for respiratory tract stimulation. These are sea water concentrates, full of macro-elements (calcium, magnesium, etc.) and trace elements..

Essential oils

These are liquid nutritional supplements, based on 5° cider vinegar enriched with an essential oil complex (juniper, cinnamon, thyme, oregano, eucalyptus, cloves). They are used sprinkled over animal fodder. They facilitate digestion.

Cod liver oil

Cod liver oil on a plant substratum is a food additive used prior to oestrus and in critical growth phases. Cod liver oil gives equine epidermis a healthy sheen

DIETINOV

Emulsified fish or linseed oils, Omega3 EPA/DHAs ...

Polyunsaturated fatty acids

The positive effect of Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acid-rich cold sea fish oils is now widely recognized by the scientific community as being a primary atherosclerosis prevention agent. It is thought the effect stems from a reduction in blood triglycerides level and blood platelet aggregation. An anti-inflammatory effect has also been noted. Industrial animal feed, particularly corn-based feed, is cheaper, but the resulting products are low in Omega 3 PUFAs.

Cod liver oil

Nordik and Cloé are dietary food additives based on cod liver oil and emulsified fish oil. With its high Omega 3 EPA/ DHA polyunsaturated fatty acid content, Nordik oil promotes animal well-being (muscle tone, skin sheen, etc.).

Emulsified linseed oils

Kalin and Fatonik are emulsified linseed oils. Linseed is a source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a substance included in the Omega 3 fatty acid family. Linseed oil gives animal epidermis a healthy sheen. During the breeding period, it promotes muscle tone and brings out the best in the animal.

Plant base products

Cornik and Kalin powder are respectively powdered cod liver oil and linseed oil on a plant base, with non GM corn cobs. Raw linseed oil can also be provided.

Mixed oils

Antartik and Baltik are PUFA-rich dietary feed additives for ruminants and hogs. Based on cod liver oil and fish oils combined with linseed oil, they give animals vitality and tone and bring out their full potential, particularly at breeding time.

Dietinov can provide product fact sheets on request.
